EBSCO’s Rehabilitation Reference Center is an evidence-based clinical reference tool for use by rehabilitation clinicians at the point-of-care. The database provides therapists and students with the best available evidence for their information needs in the areas of Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy and rehabilitation students with the best available evidence for their information needs.

Designed to deliver current valid and relevant information at the point-of-care so that rehabilitation specialists can build customized treatment regimens for patients, using the best available evidence. Some of the features contained in Rehabilitation Reference Centre include:

New Library Video Tutorials

Finding qualitative health information : a video tutorial done in conjunction with the Nursing and Health Sciences libraries. It looks at finding qualitative information in the Medline via OvidSP and Cinahl databases.

Citation chaining: finding more useful resources : New to the iResearch series.  Citation chaining is the process by which you use one good information source, such as an article relevant to your topic, and of a good scholarly nature as a starting point for finding more useful resources.

Australian Anti-Infection handbook ebook

Multimedia Resources

Byalawa (also held in the Health Sciences Library on DVD)

The Byalawa resources are research-based multimedia learning and teaching resources designed to facilitate the acquisition of appropriate, culturally safe interviewing and case history taking skills in health profession students. The DVD scenarios are designed to be used in a range of situations and show speech pathology, physiotherapy, pharmacy, psychology, and occupational therapy initial interviews with indigenous patients in a range of urban settings. The Byalawa Team included health academics and clinicians from The University of Sydney and James Cook University.

Kanyini available as a streaming video from the library  (only available to current staff and students via UniKey) or available on DVD at the Health Sciences Library

A traditional owner of the Uluru lands, and former Indigenious Person of the year (1999), Uncle Bob speaks of these lands and his people. Based on his own personal journey and the wisdom he learnt from the old people living in the bush, Uncle Bob explains why indigenous people are now struggling in a modern world and what needs to be done from them to move forward.
